Diagolinea, la libreria che sfida la forza di gravità

 

Hello my dear design lovers! The protagonist of today is DiagoLinea by Lago Design, a very special library suitable for design living rooms, offices, bedrooms and bathrooms. The main feature of DiagoLinea is its dynamic system of shelves that disrupts the rules of gravity and geometry.
The shelves of this unstructured library support each other, taking unexpected inclinations and underline more the "zero gravity" effect  can be inserted invisible bookends .
The unique wall mounting allows the individual elements of DiagoLinea to rotate on themselves in order to change the compositions during the time and having an always new library.

  The form is designed to amplify the sound output without the use of electricity, a totally low tech item as accessory for the excellence of the technology object, the smartphone.
To emphasize this contrast even the choice of a traditional material such as ceramic.
Megaphone and megaphonemini come in different colours and they cam be placed in any corner of the house and be moved with ease.

Cooking with Design: Farfalloni by Monkey Business

 

Like every Friday returns the column Cooking with Design and the protagonist of today are Farfalloni the silicone potholders by Monkey Business with the shape of the homonymous Italian pasta.
Farfalloni are two fun yellow heat-resistant pot holders to handle pans with  hot handles.
Useful idea with a special design that combines originality and practicality and leading in our kitchen a touch of beauty and irony.
I recommend not confuse them with real farfalloni pasta otherwise you could cook them in the pot!

O Pouf by Fullspot, ecologia e design in un pouf

Hello design lovers! The protagonist of today is O Pouf by Fullspot, the same successful brand of handbags O Bag and watches O Clock.
The designer Emanuele Magenta, creative mind of Fullspot, created  O Pouf from the scraps of the rubber used to produce the O bag, recovering
the rolls of colored rubber and enclosing them in an envelope of transparent PVC.
The special rubber which O Pouf is made by, makes this chair soft and light.
O Pouf is available in over 20 colors and in different sizes: cylindrical, rectangular or square and is perfect both outdoor and indoor.
Here the story of O Pouf by Fullspot is, the pouf ecological, that looks like a work of a contemporary art museum.

Makastool, la seduta a forma di macaron

Do  you know the famous macarons? These colorful French sweets  inspired the Makastool, the fun stools born from the intuition of Li-Ving, the design studio founded by Antonio Lauriola, Nicola Troiano and Vito Vero.
When I saw for the first time Makastool, I immediately thought to dedicate it a post and so, I discovered that behind this cute colored stool, there is a complete design studio that deals with the creation, implementation and sale of handcrafted self-produced design pieces of furniture .
Makastool are available in two different heights and in different shades: purple, chocolate, lime green, blue, lemon yellow ...
The Makastool are completely handcrafted in all its components, from the legs in ash to the seat covered in leather or microfibre.
And you which Makastool choose? Chocolate, pistachio, violet, vanilla!

A medieval king and queen in your home

Hello my dear design lovers! Do you remember the legend of the Knights of the Round Table of King Arthur with his beloved Queen Guinevere? The designer Charles Bargagna was inspired by this famous story to create the nice tables Arthur and Guinevere for Officinanove. Arthur is slightly higher than Guinevere and the profile of its base remind the king of chess piece while the base of Guinevere reminds the queen. Arthur looks at its best when it's accompanied by his beloved Geneva, preferably of a different color. Both tables are created by assembling two plates coated steel shaped to create the base and the table top and can be used both as a table next to a armchair or a sofa in the living area and both as a nightstand in the bedroom . 

So original and colorful, do not you think they are a good couple?

Assymetry in a table

My dear design lovers today we are in the presence of a Good Design Award Chicago Atheneaum. N7 is the table of the designer Norayr Khachatryan for Casamania. N7 is a table of the challenging and determined construction. The complexity of its structure is given by the faceted and asymmetric shapes and the technique of bending the sheet of aluminum. Its design, inspired by military language, combines sobriety and functionality. N7 is a table suitable for both the living room of a home or an office and always gives  the sophistication and rigor that characterize it.

My dear chaise long

The best piece of furniture of the home: the chaise long. The only one which alone in a room is able to full it completely. Probably you have already understood how I adore this item! Try to imagine a huge room, with light painted walls, a small table with some of your favourite books on and in the middle only your beloved chaise long. What a fantastic place for relaxing! The chaise long is one of the most loved pieces by designers in all the times, in fact we can already find it in the ancient time and then after different trasformations, it has arrived until today.
Landscape 05 is the name of our chaise long that I show you today, it is projected by the designer Jeffrey Bernett for B&B Italia. Its sinuous and light shape wrap who sit in it in a big hug and its magnetic headrest is positionable where we prefer.

Turn on the light

Probably it's the first thing we see every morning when we wake up and turn on the ligth: the table lamp. Modern or classical, big or small, our table lamp is strictly personal and it shows much of our personality. I took months in order to choose mine. Today I would like to show you a very curious table lamp: Mr Light by the designer Javier Mariscal for Nemo Cassina. It's a real gentleman who can lift up its hat for say hello to you. Its white head is the lighting body and the hat and pedestal are in glossy black metal. Doesn't it look so nice?

Mirror, mirror on the wall

"Mirror, mirror on the wall..." said a famous devil queen, but probably if she had had this beautiful mirror, she would have been nicer and less nervous.
The mirror is a piece of furniture really versatile, in fact you can put it in different rooms of your home like living room, hall, bathroom and also bedroom. It fits always good and it embellishes the place.
The mirror I choose is Tab.u Mirror by Bruno Rainaldi for Opionciatti. Its frame in hand creased alluminium is amazing. I adore it very much because of its originality and elegance.

Take a seat at Mad about Design

Hi to everybody! I have decided to start with one of major piece of the house: the chair. During the ages, the chair had many variations and still now it continues to be one of the most favourite piece of furniture by designer in all the world.
The chair personalizes the table and the room with discretion or creativity depending if we choose an eccentric, classic or minimal one.
The chair choosen for this post seems really to a small contemporary throne, the Louis Ghost by Philippe Starck for Kartell unites Louis XV baroque lines with modern material like trasparent or covering polycarbon for a elegant but glamour result.
Now I only have to invite you to take a seat at Mad about Design.
