Mad about Design at Operae in Torino

Hello design lovers! This weekend Turin is the site of  Operae, the festival of independent and self-design, an exhibition  comes now with great success in its sixth edition.
For three days, from 6 to 8 November, in Turin Exhibition, you can meet new Italian and international talents of design, discover products and collections and participate in meetings and workshops.
In Operae, creativity, art and the future are the main protagonists everywhere.

Ciao design lovers! Questo weekend Torino è la sede di Operae, il festival del design indipendente e autoprodotto, una evento ormai giunto con grande successo alla sua sesta edizione. Quest'anno Operae ha luogo in contemporanea ad Artissima e Paratissima, altre due manifestazioni legate all'arte organizzate nel capoluogo piemontese.

Save the date: Expocasa a Torino

Hello design lovers! This Saturday begins the 52th edition of Expocasa, the most important event of the Northwest in Italy dedicated to furnishings and ideas for living.
In Turin March 7 to 15, Expocasa offers a complete range of solutions for the furniture with a contemporary design classic craftsmanship.
In a space of over 38,000 square meters, you can find kitchens, bedrooms, living rooms, bathrooms and furnishings.
Alongside the exhibition, a program of appointments each day involving different participants.

Mad about Design a Roy Liechtenstein opera prima

Mad about Design visited the exhibition of Roy Liechtenstein Opera Prima at GAM , the Gallery of Modern Art in Turin , the first exhibition in Italy entirely dedicated to this artist, one of the greatest exponents of Pop Art.

The exhibition contains more than 230 works from various international galleries and private collections .

The exhibition contains numerous works on paper that show us the creative process that led to the birth of the major recurring themes in the works of Roy Liechtenstein .

The exhibition, curated by the Director GAM , Danilo Eccher, brings together a selection of works from the beginning to the success showing all its stylistic variations characterizing the art of Liechtenstein.

Mad about Design ha visitato la mostra di Roy Liechtenstein Opera Prima alla GAM, la Galleria di Arte Moderna di Torino, la prima mostra in Italia interamente dedicata a questo artista, uno dei massimi esponenti della Pop Art.

La mostra contiene oltre 230 opere provenienti da diverse gallerie internazionali e da collezioni private.

La mostra contiene numerosi lavori su carta che ci mostrano il processo creativo che ha portato alla nascita dei maggiori temi ricorrenti nelle opere di Roy Liechtenstein.

La mostra, curata dal direttore GAM, Danilo Eccher, raccoglie una selezione di opere dagli inizi al successo mostrandoci tutte le variazioni stilistiche caratterizzanti l'arte propria di Liechtenstein.

Le Palle di Natale di Elyron

 

"You decide, for me everything is fine", "I  don't deserve you", "I'll join you later", "I was in the shower" ... these are just some of the sentences written on the Christmas balls  designed by Elyron, a design workshop in the city of Turin. All we have used at least once one of these excuses and now these phrases have become of the original decorations and fun for a Christmas tree alternative and decidedly ironic.

The Christmas balls are in thick cardboard, printed in full color, drilled to hang on our tree and split into four tables of six subjects each.

When the period of festivities ends and our beloved tree must go back in the attic or basement, we can use the balls drawn from Elyron as coasters because it would be a shame to wait until next Christmas for reuse them.

"Decidi tu, per me va bene tutto", "Non è suonata la sveglia", "Non ti merito", "Vi raggiungo dopo", "Ero sotto la doccia"... queste sono solo alcune delle frasi scritte sopra le Palle di Natale disegnate da Elyron, laboratorio di design nella cittá di Torino.


Tutti abbiamo usato almeno una volta una di queste scuse ed ora queste frasi sono diventate delle decorazioni originali e divertenti per un albero di Natale alternativo e decisamente ironico. Le Palle di Natale sono in cartone spesso, stampate in quadricromia, fustellate e forate per poterle appendere al nostro albero e suddivise in quattro tavole da sei soggetti ciascuna. Quando il periodo delle festivitá finisce e il nostro amato albero deve ritornare in soffitta o in cantina, possiamo usare le Palle disegnate da Elyron come sottobicchieri perchè sarebbe un peccato aspettare il Natale successivo per poterle riutilizzare. Hi-tech loves Design: iToch by Realizzatori di Idee

 

 

Hello design lovers! Today the column High-tech loves Design introduces you iToch, a natural acoustic amplifier for iPhone, iPod and all other types of smartphone, born from the creativity of the designers Daniele and Davide Barbieri brothers, founders of the laboratory Realizzatori di Idee.
The iPhone disappears completely within iToch, which amplifies sound by about 30% without the use of batteries due to the particular system that allows the sound to come together in a pavilion increasing the sound in a natural way. iToch is crafted entirely of spruce wood and is available in different colour: natural wood, white or black.

Even the name is original,  we can translate the word "Toch"  in the dialect of its creators with "piece", in this case a piece of wood.

Buongiorno design lovers! Oggi La rubrica High-tech love Design presenta iTòch, un amplificatore acustico naturale per iphone, ipod e tutti gli altri tipi di smarthphone, nato dalla creativitá dei due fratelli designer Daniele  e Davide Barbieri, fondatori del laboratorio Realizzatori di Idee.

L'iphone scompare completamente all'interno di iTòch, il quale amplifica il suono di circa il 30% senza l'uso di batterie grazie al particolare sistema che permette all’audio di confluire in un padiglione aumentando in modo naturale il suono.  iToch è realizzato artigianalmente interamente in legno d’abete ed è disponibile in diversi colori: legno naturale chiaro o scuro, bianco e nero. Anche il nome è originale  ovvero “tòch” che si traduce dal dialetto di origine dei suoi creatori in “pezzo", in questo caso pezzo di legno.

Cosa ne pensate di questo oggetto che unisce natura e tecnologia insieme in nome della musica e del design?

 

 

Mad about Design at Paradesign

 Today Mad about Design has visited Paratissima, contemporary art fair that takes place in Turin from  5th to 9th November, in the locations of Turin Exhibition. The event, now in its tenth year, is dedicated to the promotion of young Italian and international artists. This year more than 600 artists were divided into several sections: ParaPhotò,, ParaVideo, ParaFuture, ParaFashion and ParaDesign.
A very eventful weekend for Turin, the city in fact was also the location for two exhibitions dedicated to contemporary art: Artissima and TheOthers.
  For Paradesign was devoted an entire hall where young emerging designers presented their creations in direct contact with the art.
I leave you to admire some works of design that I found for you today and I have literally conquered!

 Torino dal 5 al 9 Novembre, nei locali di Torino Esposizioni. L'evento, giunto quest'anno alla decima edizione, è dedicato alla promozione di giovani artisti italiani ed internazionali. Quest'anno gli artisti erano più di 600 divisi in diverse sezioni: ParaPhotò, , ParaVideo, ParaFuture, ParaFashion e ParaDesign.

After the 51th edition of Expocasa in Turin

 

Hello my dear design lovers! As I told you yesterday, today's post is dedicated to the 51th edition of Expocasa in Turin.

Expocasa, with 45,000 visitors and 200 exhibitors, proved to be an important event for the furnishing and design.
  Plastic, glass and steel are still the largest proposed materials and as for the colors, the tonalities we find more, are the neutral ones, like beige, taupe, gray and white.
